Traffic congestion at Southern Expressway entry points

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Traffic congestion has been reported at the entry points of the Southern Expressway. Director of the Maintenance and Management Division of the Southern Expressway,  S. Opanayaka said traffic has built up at the Kadawatha, Athurugiriya, Pinnaduwa and Godagama entry and exit points of the Southern Expressway. Around 70,000 vehicles travel along the Southern Expressway on a daily basis. Opanayake revealed the unusual levels of traffic was caused by up to 110,000 vehicles entering the expressway today (August 25). He urged motorists to operate with caution and cooperate with authorities.
