Colombo (News 1st) - State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe attending an event at the Moratuwa Divisional Secretariat on Friday (Aug 24), expressed his thoughts on the Central Expressway anfd the United National Party. The State Minister of International Trade stated that China seems to be slowing down the work on Phase 1 of the Central Expressway and noted that if he was President he would have taken a clear stand to award Phase 1 to Sri Lankan companies as they have been doing a good job on Phase 2. He noted that he is not someone who accepts bribes and kickbacks. Then he focused his attention on the United National Party and stated that the UNP is a party that had fallen to its knees and is now attempting to stand up. "Can you imagine we were in the Opposition for 24 years" questioned Senasinge. The State Minister explained that when the party was under the leadership of people like J.R. Jayawardene or D.S. Senanayake the most amount of time the party spent in the opposition was just 5 years. Senasinghe exclaimed that the UNP was struck by a Tsunami. The question is, who is the Tsunami that struck the UNP?
