COLOMBO (News 1st) – A female inmate was found dead inside a cell at the Welikada Prison.

Prions Spokesperson Thushara Upuldeniya said the inmate is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

The deceased was a 50-year-old from Wellampitiya who was jailed on a drug-related offense.

The body has been moved to the Colombo National Hospital and the post-mortem is due to take place.
