Chemicals used to ripen fruits to be eliminated

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Agriculture states that they will take arrest individuals who use chemicals to ripen fruits. Subject Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has issued instructions to the Consumer affairs authority to crack down on individuals who use chemicals harmful for humans in the process of ripening fruits. The Ministry also hopes to launch a public awareness campaign in order to put an end to use of such chemicals.
