Cabinet rejects age limit for three wheel drivers

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Cabinet has rejected a proposal to ban the issuing of driving licenses to three-wheeler drivers under the age of 35. Minister of Social Welfare and Primary Industries, Daya Gamage said the proposal failed as a majority of cabinet members had opposed to it. The proposal to impose an age restriction on three wheel drivers was first proposed by Minister of Transport Nimal Siripala de Silva.
