Colombo (News1st) - After being sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan on Saturday (August 18), ex-cricketer, Imran Khan called on the rich of the nation to begin joining hands to launch an austerity drive to reduce the countries debt. In his first address to the nation as the premiere, he continuously stressed on the country debt and commented about the bad habits that the country has been following for years by living off loans and aid from foreign nations. Further, criticising the lavish lifestyle of Pakistani rulers, he made an announcement to live in a small three-bedroom house instead of the official PM residence and announced a decision to sell off his office's fleet of bulletproof cars. Opting for a massive reduction in the number of servants at his residence, Khan reduced the numbers from 524 to only 2 servants waiting on him. “I want to tell my people, I will live a simple life, I will save your money,” were the words of the new Prime Minister.
