Colombo (News 1st) - Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe attended an event to present land deeds at the Urubokka Public Grounds today (August 18). This ceremony graced by Ministers Gayanatha Karunathilake, Sagala Rathnayake, and several others was organized in order to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the good governance government and the 25th anniversary of the Pasgoda divisional secretariat. 1000 title deeds were presented to families by the prime minister at this ceremony. Prime Minister Ranil speaking at the event stated that everyone asks about the developments the government has done. He questions as to how the government could develop the nation when they are forced to pay off debts which they inherited. The Prime Minister also spoke about Former President Mahinda Rajapakse's Ministry of Highways and road development. He stated that when the current government took office they had to pay compensation of Rs. 40bn for lands acquired by the former President's ministry. The Prime Minister also claimed that they were able to control the collapse of the economy and save the country from being bankrupt. The Prime Minister continues to make grand statements on the political stage. But the question remains is he being completely honest with the general public? Who supported him by blocking the entrance to Sirikotha by tarring the road, when his position was under severe pressure from within the UNP itself? Who came to Wimal Weerawansas rescue in the case of the two passports? Who is engaged in major business ventures today, with the person referred to as Mahinda Rajapaksa's Dubai Banker? Who is delaying the cases with regard to the files sent to the FCID? Who stepped forward and said that the 2010 Presidential Polls were fair even before matters relating to the elections concluded? Who are the political leaders who enjoy a cup of coffee together privately but attack each other out in the open? Who supported whom by not singing the document pertaining to the call for a no-confidence motion? And last but not least, Who is putting up a facade before the media and working in partnership against the public?
