Accident in Pelawatta claims two lives

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An accident in Pelawatta along the Madampe - Kuliyapitiya road claimed the lives of two people. According to the Police said the accident occurred last night (August 16) when a motorbike travelling towards Kuliyapitiya knocked down a woman pedestrian. The 31-year old motorbike rider and the 73-year-old woman had succumbed to their injuries after they were admitted to the Kuliyapitiya General Hospital. The motorbike was taken to police custody and the Chilaw police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
