18 hour water cut for Gampaha district

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The water supply to a number of areas in the Gampaha district will be suspended for 18 hours today (August 17). The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said the water cut will be in effect from 9 AM today (August 17) to 3 AM tomorrow (August 18) to repair a leak in the main pipeline from the Palliyakanda reservoir to Kelaniya and Wattala. The water cut will affect areas that come under the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha, Peliyagoda Urban Council, Wattala-Mabola Urban council, Biyagama Pradeshiya Sabha and the Wattala Pradeshiya Sabha. The water supply to houses in the Gonawila Road, Mawaduwila Road and Wijayarama Road will also be disrupted.
