Min. Daya Gamage requests vehicles for monitoring MPs

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Award ceremony of the INCO 2018 industrial exhibition organized by the Institution of Incorporated Engineers, Sri Lanka was held on the 11th of August. Addressing the attendees, Minister of Social Welfare and Primary Industries, Daya Gamage stated that he had requested for five monitoring MPs for his ministry and that the government should provide a vehicle for each monitoring MP. "Even a ministry secretary gets two vehicles. They cannot operate without a vehicle, can they? I can operate without a vehicle. I will use my helicopter. I will not obtain a single cent from the government" continued the Minister. Gamage also continued to say that although his ministry is supposed to have a cadre of 88 that he has only 52 but that even with the 52 that a huge portion of work has been done together with the private sector companies. "I do not expect anything from the government because I know the government can never do business" the Minister added.
