Motor Traffic Dept. outsources practical tests for driving licences

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Motor Traffic has decided to outsource some of the practical exams conducted by the department when issuing licences to the SLTB and the Automobile Association of Sri Lanka. Senior officials at the department noted that they are contemplating the move in order to curb irregularities that could occur in the practical examination process. The department has already obtained cabinet approval for the process. The department will launch a trial project at the Werehera office of the Department of motor traffic from the 1st of September. Under the project around 100 practical tests are to be conducted by the SLTB and the Automobile Association.
