Two arrested for possession of a hand grenade

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects in possession of a live hand grenade manufactured overseas have been arrested from the Yaka-gas-mulla area in Weerakatiya. According to a spokesperson for the Police, the arrest had been made based on a tip-off received regarding a lorry that was transporting stolen cattle. The live hand grenade was found inside the lorry. Although the suspects who were residents of Weerakatiya had initially fled the scene they were later arrested by the Police. The suspects are due to be produced before the Walasmulla Magistrate today (August 05)
