Kumbukkana motor accident claims the lives of 3

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Three people died in a motor accident near the Kumbukkana Junction along the Monaragala-Wellawaya main road. A spokesperson for the police stated that the accident had occurred when a lorry that was attempting to overtake a bus, collided with a three-wheeler traveling in the opposite direction. According to the spokesperson the three-wheeler driver and it's passengers suffered serious injuries, three of the victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the Monaragala hospital. The deceased were an 8-year-old boy, a 19-year-old girl and a 22 year old boy who are all residents of Nugalanda. Police said the lorry driver was arrested for the accident.
