COLOMBO (News 1st) - JVP Parliamentarian Bimal Rathnayake speaking at an event in Munamaldeniya, Panduwasnuwara commented on the actions of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The parliamentarian began by recounting an incident that transpired recently, where the absence of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa led to a tense situation. He noted that when MP Chamal Rajapaksa arrived at the location instead of Mahinda Rajapaksa the people who were gathered at the location reacted in an unwelcoming manner. Chamal Rajapaksa then went on to explain to the crowds that had gathered at the location that the former President is resting at home as he had just returned to the country after undergoing medical treatment for a back injury. Rathnayake noted that most media only revealed the events that transpired at the location up to that point and did not air footage of what happened when Mahinda spoke to the organizer of the event ( Click here to watch video).
