COLOMBO (News 1st) - Immigration officers in New Zealand have been forced to review more than 800 student visa applications from Sri Lanka after uncovering a scam.
Foreign media reported that it was uncovered that students applying to go to New Zealand would use a finance company willing to claim they had enough money to support themselves.
It was revealed that New Zealand immigration officials had first uncovered the racket in January this year.
