COLOMBO (News 1st) – IP Neyomal Rangajeewa and the Former Commissioner of Prisons Emil Ranjan Lamahewa have been further remanded until the 7th of next month.

The order was issued when the suspects were produced before Colombo additional magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.

The suspects, Neyomal Rangajeewa and Emil Ranjan Lamahewa have been remanded in connection to the deaths of 27 inmates of the Welikada Prison during the 2012 Welikada Prison riots.
