COLOMBO (News 1st) - A lunar eclipse, the longest of the 21st Century, is set to occur tonight as the moon moves into the shadow of the earth.
From start to finish, the entire celestial event will last for 06 hours and 13 minutes.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, the Earth and the Moon are perfectly aligned - the Earth in the middle prevents sunlight from reaching the moon. The celestial event will be visible to Sri Lanka and many other countries.
For Sri Lankans, this lunar eclipse can be witnessed from 10:45 PM to 3:48 AM tomorrow.
