Police intensifies crack down on drugs

COLOMBO (News 1st) - 7 individuals linked to a heroin racket were arrested following STF raids in Katharagama and Colombo. According to the Police STF, 3 suspects were arrested during raids carried out in Kataragama, last night while, the remaining 4 suspects were arrested in the areas of Grandpass, Thotalanga and Mattakkuliya. Meanwhile, another five suspects involved in drug rackets were arrested by the Police yesterday. The suspects were arrested from the Grandpass, Moragahahena, Keselwatte and Horana areas. A total of 177 grams of Heroin was seized during the raids.
