Suspect connected to Army Corporal's shooting arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect connected to a shooting, targeting an Army Lieutenant, in Rathmalana has been arrested by the Police. The shooting which took place on the 26th of last month injured the Lieutenant's driver an Army Corporal. Police Media Spokesperson, SP Ruwan Gunasekara said, the arrest was made by a team consisting of officers from the Mirihana Special Crimes Investigation Division adding that the suspect was arrested while he was hiding at a house in Angunukolapelassa. A T-56 firearm, 14 rounds of ammunition and a Magazine have been seized from the suspect's possession. The 31-year-old suspect is a businessman from Hokandara.
