Death penalty for 19 drug smugglers

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Cabinet of Ministers have decided to implement the Death Penalty on those convicted of drug offences, says Co-cabinet Spokesperson Minister (Dr.) Rajitha Senarathne. Min. Senarathne has stated that 19 large-scale drug smugglers have now been handed down the Death Sentence by Court. Meanwhile, the Cabinet had also discussed on actively involving the Tri-Forces in the battle against the drug menace.
