Head-on collission between two private buses leave over 70 injured

Seventy-seven people have been left injured following an accident between two private buses in Gokaralla, Malsiripura. The accident occurred when the bus plying from Embilipitiya to Jaffna attempted to overtake another vehicle. Sixty-four of the injured are receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital, three of whom are in a critical condition, according to the hospital's acting director Yapa Bandara. Eighteen are receiving treatment for minor injuries. Thirteen more are receiving treatment at the Gokaralla Hospital. Sources say that their condition is not serious.
