Investigations underway to track phone conversations of PTL officials

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Criminal Investigation Department stated that arrangements will be made to obtain information regarding the telephone calls made from the mobile phones found in the ward where the beneficial owner of perpetual treasuries Arjun Aloysius and its CEO Kasun Palisena are currently been imprisoned. A senior officer of the CID said that they have asked the relevant companies to provide them with information. When the Fort Magistrate's Court summoned the suspects last Thursday, Additional Solicitor General of the Attorney General's Department, Yasantha Kodagoda, pointed out to Court that 3 mobile phones along with 5 sim cards were found by a group of special prison officers from WARD H where the suspects were being held. The Prisons Media Spokesman, Prisons Commissioner Thushara Upuldeniya said special investigations are underway by prison intelligence officers and the Prison Superintendent of the Magazine prison. Prisons Commissioner also further noted that it will be decided whether to transfer them to another ward or to another prison based on the investigation reports.
