Six suspects arrested on charges of theft

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Six suspects have been arrested by the Special Crimes Operations Unit of Mirihana on charges of theft. Police said the suspects were arrested from the Kotte, Pitakotte and Hokandara areas for breaking into houses during the day and stealing motorbikes. Following interrogations, the suspects had revealed details of motorbike thefts carried out at houses, stores and temples in the Mirihana, Athurugiriya, Thalangama, Wellampitiya and Biyagama areas. The suspects aged 18, 19 and 24 are residents of Kotte, Pitakotte and Hokandara. The suspects are to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrates Court.
