Father of four sentenced to life imprisonment

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Colombo High Court today sentenced a 46-year-old father of four to life imprisonment for the possession of 7.21 grams of Heroin. The suspect Mohamed Faiser who owned a restaurant and a hotel in Grandpass was arrested during a raid carried out by the Police Narcotics Bureau on the 22nd of March 2013. High Court Judge Wirum Kaluarachchi delivering the verdict following a lengthy trial said the charges filed against Mohamed Faiser over the possession of Heroin has been proven beyond reasonable doubt and hence, that the courts would not hesitate to punish such racketeers for the betterment of the society.
