Akash Ambani's glamorous engagement ceremony draws in B- town celebrities

Reuters - India's top politicians, business tycoons along with Bollywood celebrities turned up for the engagement party of the eldest son of country's richest man, business magnate, and chairman and managing director of fortune 500 company, Reliance Industries Ltd., Mukesh Ambani, Akash Ambani, and his fiancée Shloka Mehta, in India's showbiz city Mumbai on Saturday (June 30) evening. From the Indian law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, to the senior leaders of nations' main opposition Congress party like P. Chidambaram and Kapil Sibbal, were among the big names of Indian politics. Bollywood A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, Siddharth Malhotra were among others who raised the glamour quotient in the party at the palatial Ambani residence, Antilia - estimated to be the world's second most expensive property after Buckingham Palace in London. The couple reportedly got engaged in an intimate ceremony in the western resort state of Goa in March. Mehta is the daughter of Russell Mehta, who owns one of India's leading diamond companies Rosy Blue Diamonds. The couple is likely to have a December wedding, local media reports said. Mukesh Ambani is an Indian business magnate who is the chairman and managing director of conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited. In 2018, he was ranked as the 19th wealthiest person in the world by Forbes magazine.
