COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Presidential Commission investigating SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka convened yet again today (June 29). The Manager of In-Flight services at SriLankan Airlines Rashmore Ferdinands continued his testimony today (June 29) at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry. He was questioned by the commission on the contract SriLankan Airlines had entered in to with Phoenix Rising Ventures to provide duty-free services on behalf of the national carrier. Yesterday (June 28), Ferdinands testified that at times the excess stock of duty-free goods brought down by Phoenix Rising Venture were re-eported to a third party destination. He said it was a deviation from the usual practice of resending excess stock back to the supplier on the sale or return policy.
