UPDATE : Suspect arrested in connection to 6 year old girl who was molested and murdered

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 6-year-old girl in Sulipuram Jaffna. The suspect is a 22-year-old area resident. He was remanded till the 11th of July after being produced before the Mallaakam Magistrate today (June 27). The postmortem revealed that the performed at the Jaffna teaching hospital yesterday that the girl was sexually abused and strangled to death before she was thrown into a well. The girl was reported missing from her residence on Monday (June 25). The victim was Sivanesvaram Rejina, a grade one student.
