Police use tear gas to disperse protesting university students

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police fired tear gas to disperse protesting university students at the Parliament roundabout. The university students are protesting against SAITM private medical college. The protesters were marching towards the Parliamentary complex causing disruption to the flow of traffic in Rajagiriya as well as roads around the Parliament. According to a News 1st correspondent heavy vehicular congestion has been reported in the area due to the protest.
