Strike action launched by 100 and 101 bus routes

Colombo (News First) - Private bus employees of buses travelling from Panadura and Moratuwa to Colombo have launched a strike action. According to our Correspondent, the protesters were rallied at the Rawathawatta junction in Moratuwa. The protest was staged by the owners and employees of private buses. The strike was launched against long-distance buses travelling from Kataragama to Colombo providing transport to passengers travelling in between their route. Our correspondent said that many commuters were affected by the strike action. The protestors argument was that the long-distance buses stop at all bus stands apart from their designated bus stands, due to which their income has collapsed. They further said, that since there is no proper intervention from the transport authorities that they hope to continue the strike action.
