Oprah Winfrey, host of the biggest talk show of America, "The Oprah Winfrey show" signed a multi-year content partnership with Apple to create programs that would be released as part of the Apple original content lineup. The agreement was signed as Apple ramps up its original content portfolio and goes head to head with the likes of Netflix and Amazon in a war for consumers' attention. The company in a statement released on Friday stated that together, Winfrey and Apple would create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences from all over the world. Whether or not Winfrey would appear on any of the shows was not clearly specified by the company, but she is expected to have an on-screen role as a host and interviewer. Financial aspects of the deal have been declined to be made popular by the company. Apple also added that the deal would not affect Winfrey's contract with the television network that she had launched in 2011. The three companies Apple, Amazon, and Netflix are constantly on the run to grasp producers, showrunners, and performers and also paying thumping sums to do so. The entry of these gigantic companies into Hollywood with an enormous financial capital has brought a new phase into the Entertainment arena. Throughout the last year, Apple had made deals with prominent names like Reese Witherspoon, Steven Spielberg, Octavia Spencer and Kevin Durant. Apple believes that Winfrey's entrance would only add a new level of stardom to that collaboration. Although these two names could make a huge impact when collaborated, Apple and Winfrey are competing in a highly crowded and competitive background. Adding to the competition Netflix recently signed a multi-year deal to produce and star in original shows with former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama. The real deal behind Apple, bringing on Winfrey is actually a mechanism to attract new customers and keep them wallowing in the universe of Apple products. According to a statement by the Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue the skills that they possess is to only create applications, distribute and market it and not really to create shows, and that is where they would be needing the incomparable potential of Winfrey.
