COLOMBO (News 1st) - The International Cricket Council has said it will begin its inquiry on accusations of Sri Lanka changing the condition of the ball during the 2nd test against the West Indies. Meanwhile, footage has been released to the media of Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal shining the ball during the match. Controversy arose once again during yesterday's (June 17) play surrounding the condition of the ball. Play was halted for a moment after umpires inspected the ball for taking a sticky nature. Thereafter Sri Lankan batsmen Roshen Silva's bat was inspected and the umpires urged him to change the bat, which he did. Sri Lanka was bundled out for 342 runs in their 2nd innings giving the hosts a target of 296 runs.
