1 dead, 30 injured in Alawaa bus crash

Colombo (News 1st) - One person died and more than 30 people suffered injuries in a motor accident that took place on the Alawwa - Kurunegala Main Road. The accident was caused by two private buses colliding head-on. One bus was operating from Colombo to Galnewa while the other was plying from Kaduruwela to Colombo. The injured victims were rushed immediately to the Alawwa and Kurunegala Hospitals. A Hospital Spokesperson said that around 30 people are currently being treated at the Alawwa Hospital, while 17 people who were in serious condition were transferred to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.
