Reduction in the number of influenza cases in the south

Colombo (News 1st) - The Ministry of Health stated that almost 200 patients are still being treated for influenza in hospitals located in the Southern Province. Director Health Services of the Southern province, Dr G. Wijesuriya stated that there has been a significant drop in the number of influenza cases reported in the area. Further, Director General of Health Services, Mr Anil Jasinghe stated that as per an island-wide survey carried out by specialists in contagious diseases there have not been many cases of influenza outside the southern province. Mr Jasinghe further stated that since this is a highly contagious disease people should be conscious of following good health practises.
