Abe’s visit is part of a surge of diplomacy ahead of the unprecedented Trump-Kim summit. When Abe meets Trump in Washington, he is expected to push for Japan’s security concerns to be reflected during the talks between the United States and North Korea.
The Trump-Kim summit is to be held on June 12 at 9:00 a.m. (0100 GMT). White House Spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said, yesterday (June 6), the summit will be held on the Singaporean island of Sentosa.
