Colombo (News1st) - State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe who returned to the island from an overseas was questioned by journalists at the Bandaranaike International Airport on whether he accepted money from Arjun Aloysius or Perpetual Treasuries.
The State minister while accepting that investigators had called on his coordinating secretary described the investigation as a joke. He explained that there were multiple campaign teams working for him during the previous election. He noted that he cannot remember things that happened 3 years ago and who provided money for the campaign.
He went onto note that he came in second from the Colombo district during the election and that now people have begun to attribute his victory to companies such as the Mendis company, which he reiterated was and is a legal company. He described the entire effort as a cheap means of slinging mud.
When pressed by journalists on how much he received, Sujeewa said that he did not and that his friends ran his election campaign so he would have to talk to them before responding.
