Fresh reports are now emerging of an incident where Wijesekera Walisundara, who served as a commentator for the 2nd test between Sri Lanka and Australia, which is at the centre of the allegations, being removed from commentary after receiving a telephone call from an SLC official. Walisundara speaking to Sports1st recalled how he made comments on how the pitch was behaving as wickets continue to fall. He went onto note that about an hour before the end of play on the 1st day he was pulled from commentary due to a complaint made to the SLBC by Sri Lanka Cricket. He went onto state that it was later revealed that the official in question who had lodged a complaint regarding his commentary was Jerome Jayaratne. Walisundara said that when he confronted Jayaratne with regard to his call, Jerome Jayaratne simply said he communicated an order he received from above
