REUTERS: The latest film in the blockbuster franchise, “Solo: A Star Wars Story” scored another win at the North American Weekend box office from Friday (June 01) through Sunday (June 03).

The movie that tells the backstory of Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca, took in $29 million dollars, according to BoxOfficePro.com. Coming in at No. 2 is “Deadpool 2” with $23.5 million dollars; it’s already brought in more than $519 million worldwide.

Newcomer “Adrift,” about a couple that accidentally sails into a hurricane, came in at $11.4 million during its debut weekend.

“Avengers: Infinity War” came in at No. 4, adding a potential $10 million dollars to its global haul of $1.9 billion dollars. Rounding out the top 5 is “Book Club” with $6.8 million dollars added to its total sales of $38 million.
