Judges continue to withdraw from Gotabhaya's FR petition

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Justice Murdu Fernando became the fourth judge to recuse herself from the FR petition filed by Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. The petition seeks an order preventing the FCID from arresting Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. High Court Judges Eva Wanasundara and Sarath De Abrew who considered the FR petition issued an order preventing the arrest of Gotabaya Rajapaksa until the petition is being examined. Following the order, justice Eva Wanasundara recused herself from the petition and Justice Buwaneka Aluwihare and Priyantha Fernando withdrew themselves from the case due to personal reasons. Four judges have recused themselves from the FR petition filed by Gotabhaya Rajapaksa seeking to prevent his arrest. The petition will be taken up again on November 27 before another panel of judges.
