Charge sheet against Johnston Fernando presented in Court

Colombo (News1st) - The summarized Charge sheet of the case filed against Former Minister Johnston Fernando, then Chairman of Sathosa Eraj Fernando and then Operations Director of Sathosa were handed over to the suspects today. The case had been filed against the trio on charges of deploying 153 Sathosa employees for political activities. The Charge sheets were handed over to the suspects after reading them out in open court. The Bribery Commission has filed 5 cases in total, against the suspects. According to the charge sheets filed before Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake, a loss of 40 million rupees has been incurred to the state through the misuse of the Sathosa employees. However, the suspects pleaded innocent over the charges before the court. Accordingly, the Magistrate ordered the hearing of the case to begin on the 28th of August.
