Arkady Babchenko, a Russian journalist critical of the Kremlin, has been killed in Kiev, Ukraine.
Babchenko, 41, was found bleeding at the entrance to his block of flats by his wife and died in an ambulance.
In a press statement, the Kiev police department said it believes Babchenko was killed as a reprisal for his work as a journalist.
Babchenko left his home country as he received death threats after he wrote about a crashed Russian military plane in 2016. He first moved to the Czech Republic prior to settling in Ukraine.
A former war correspondent, he worked in Kiev as a presenter on Ukraine’s channel ATR TV.
