COLOMBO (News 1st) – The trade union action launched by the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee will continue today (May 30) as well.
Chairman of the Committee Sampath Rajitha said the trade union action has been launched citing salary anomalies.
Superintendent of Railway Operations Vijaya Samarasinghe said railway technical employees including casual employees, substitute employees, and employees on contract basis, have been informed to report to work immediately as a result of the strike action.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Railway Controllers’ Association Lal Ariyaratne said technical officers are attempting to sabotage the operation of trains. The superintendent of railway operations said an investigation has been launched in this regard.
