COLOMBO (News 1st) - Reports have come to light that communities from the Levela estate in Bulathkohupitiya in Kegalle have been residing in temporary makeshift structures for the past 3 years. On the 20th of December 2014, 35 people from 7 families were evacuated from their homes due to the threat of landslides. Although these families were promised houses in 3 months, they continue to reside in these makeshift houses. The inclement weather has worsened their plight.
