Maldivian arrested for heroin smuggling

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A Maldivian national was arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau at the Bandaranaike International Airport with a stock 2.39kg of heroin. Police said the heroin is worth over Rs. 24 million. Investigations have revealed the suspect had travelled back and forth from Sri Lanka 15 times since 2016. The suspect is to be produced before Minuwangoda Magistrate's Court where a detention order is set to be obtained.
