Immigration and emigration officers' call off work to rule campaign

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The work to rule strike action launched by officers of the immigration and emigration association, citing several demands including the failure to approve the service minutes, has been called off. Sri Lanka Immigration Officers' Association President, Aruna Kanugala, said the strike was called off after successful discussions with the subject minister who has agreed to submit a cabinet paper which included their requests. The work to rule strike action launched at midnight had greatly inconvenienced passengers that arrived at the airport today (May 18), with long queues being reported.
