Dr. Saman Weerasinghe appointed adviser for international affairs to President Sirisena

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Dr. Saman Weerasinghe has been appointed as an adviser for international affairs to President Maithripala Sirisena. Dr. Weerasinghe received his letter of appointment from President Sirisena, recently. He previously served as the Sri Lanka Ambassador to Russia from 2016 to 2018. He was a student of Mahinda College, Galle. Dr. Weerasinghe who obtained his degree from the Russian Medical Academy in Moscow maintained close diplomatic ties with Russia for many years.
