Thirteen new High Court Judges take oaths before Chief Justice

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Thirteen new High Court Judges took oaths before the Chief Justice at a ceremony held at the Supreme Court, on Friday (May 11). Gampaha District Judge R. S. S. Sapuvida, Colombo District Judge Sujeewa Nissanka, Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara and Aththanagalla District Judge S. A. I. S. Suraweewa took oaths as new High Court Judges. In addition, Colombo Additional District Judges M. P. M. Abeyratne and M. M. S. Y. Mapa Bandara and Vavuniya District Judge S. Nandasekaran were also appointed as new High Court Judges. Homagama District Judge Krishanthi Amaratunga, Moratuwa District Judge W. Y. S. Fernando, Avissawella District Judge G. G. Siripala and Trincomalee District Judge N. M. M. Abdullah also took oaths as new High Court Judges. Horana District Judge Gihan Pilapitiya and Senior State Counsel S. Soosaithas of the Attorney General's Department took oaths before the Chief Justice as new High Court Judge.
