President Maithripala Sirisena leaves for Iran

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Maithripala Sirisena left for Iran for a two-day state visit on an invitation extended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. President Sirisena is scheduled to meet President Rouhani and hold bilateral talks to strengthen economic and trade relations as well as encouraging Iranian investments in the country. This is the first state visit to Iran by President Sirisena after assuming duties as President.
