Weather: An afternoon with possible thundershowers

The Meteorology Department has predicted an afternoon with possible thundershowers today (May 10). "Showers or thundershowers will occur over most provinces of the island, particularly after 2.00 p.m.", said the Met Department. Met Department says that Heavy falls of around 100 mm can be expected at some places, particularly in;

• Central Province
• Sabaragamuwa Province
• Uva provinces Province
• Ampara District
• Batticaloa District
• Galle District
• Matara District
• Polonnaruwa District

Misty conditions have been predicted in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.
