COLOMBO (News 1st) - UNP MP Ranjith Aluvihare says a group including himself will boycott the UNP Mayday Celebrations scheduled for tomorrow (May 6). He said if an electorate organizer suffers defeat on three separate occasions that person will lose the position as electorate organizer, however, that has not happened at the op level of the United National Party. Furthermore, he said quite some time there has never been a change in the leadership of the party and that there is no point in making changes to other positions if a change is not brought to the top position. MP Aluvihare warned that the UNP will face another defeat when they face the Provincial Council polls and he questioned how the party would be able to field a Presidential candidate after such a defeat and after losing votes from the villages. Aluvihare noted that he would not be attending the may day celebrations adding that there is a group of persons who are with him. He refused to disclose details regarding this group but states that they would be making a decision very soon. He added that is the UNP  does not field its own candidate for President during the 2019 presidential election then he would definitely leave the party. https://www.facebook.com/NewsfirstSL/videos/1936870076373241/
