COLOMBO (News 1st) - Representatives of the Viyath Maga Organisation called on the Mahanayake's of the Asgiri and Malwathu Chapters, today (May 3). The group led by Retired Major General G. A. Chandrasiri called on Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya and briefed the Mahanayake of their annual convention. When speaking about the future of the country, Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero said although there are many political parties, associations and unions, there is no development in the country. He also said that when people with the capability come into power even they fail to do so. "We can say many things from the outside.That's how rulers come in. Everyone comes forward saying they can develop things even better. What have they done? If rice and coconuts are being imported, the previous government and the current government are the same. No one is showing an interest in developing the country," Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero added. Later, they called on the Mahanayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect the Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero and the Mahanayake of the Ramanya Maha Sect the Most Venerable Napana Premasiri Thero.
